The surgical pen with a telescopic member and a hollow tubular member composed of conductive materials may also include a device capable of simultaneously realizing the following functions: cutting with electrodes, solidifying with solidified materials, and exhausting smoke and/or shattered shoulders by vacuum. In this case, the end of the hollow tubular member and the end of the electrode connected to the hollow tubular member may preferably extend at least 3 cm beyond the end of the handpiece to ensure solidification from the hollow tubular member during smoke exhaust. Materials, such as argon, will not be immediately retracted into the handpiece
